Boddam Chipper Fish and Chip Shop

Boddam Chipper Fish and Chip Shop

I was delighted to read that the Boddam village fish and chip shop is to reopen on Sunday the 8th January 2006. It’s a super wee chipper with really friendly staff. I think it’s run by the people who own the nearby Buchanness Bar and Restaurant Hotel which is also worthy of a visit.

The chipper does a nice haggis super and I love their spare ribs. In fact I can happily work my way down their menu.

Do buy a bag of their home made tablet – Scottish toffee at its best.

In the summer months we love to get some fish and chips and take them down to the harbour to eat. There’s a nice pavilion type covered bench seated area with great views of the Buchan coast and Boddam lighthouse. The chipper also sells ice creams and cones so if we’re still hungry on the walk back we treat ourselves to an ice cream or icicle. There are some benches in the shape of boats just round the corner to sit and enjoy a closer view of the Boddam lighthouse. These seats are known locally as boaties.

The opening hours are from 4: 30 pm Monday to Sunday and the Boddam chippers address is 4 Russell Street, Boddam, Peterhead. Their telephone number is 01779 481148.
